Internship Opportunity

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Organization: Plan International

Plan International occasionally offers short-term internships in various program areas and departments within our Country Office. This internship is designed for recent female graduates eager to gain practical experience in the humanitarian sector. It is important to note that this internship does not equate to employment within the organization.

Objectives of the Internship Programme:

  • Provide recent female graduates with practical exposure and learning opportunities in the humanitarian sector through on-the-job training.
  • Promote gender equality by enhancing women’s presence in the job market.

This internship aims to enrich the intern’s professional development through practical assignments, exposing them to our work and enabling learning across various departmental functions. Interns will contribute to activities and projects while managing a dedicated project throughout their assignment.

Internship Roles Available:

We are looking for interns in the following areas:

  • Finance
  • Supply Chain & Administration
  • Logistics, Warehouse, and Asset Management
  • Human Resources (People and Culture)
  • Risk and Audit
  • Graphics Design
  • Communications and Social Media
  • Gender Equality and Inclusion
  • Innovation and Knowledge Management
  • Health and Nutrition
  • Child Protection
  • Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH)
  • Information Management and Preparedness
  • Education

Ideal Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Fresh graduates with a BA degree from Ethiopian universities or reputable colleges, with a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Graduates who have completed their studies in a relevant field within the current or preceding year.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated academic excellence through recent university records.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, and a solid sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the capacity to manage projects independently and provide constructive suggestions.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both English and a local language, both verbal and written.
