Job Title: Human Resources Assistant
Reports to: Human Resources Officer

Location:

  • Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport x 1
  • Victoria Falls International Airport x 1

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process of new employees.
  • Provide secretarial services during interviews, disciplinary hearings, and HR staff meetings.
  • Support the Human Resources Officer in disciplinary proceedings.
  • Coordinate training programs for the airport in liaison with the Human Resources Officer.
  • Assist staff with the completion and compilation of IRBM performance management forms.

  • Attend to Safety, Health, and Wellness programs and activities for the airport.
  • Maintain an inventory of all institutional/rented accommodation.
  • Manage the house waiting list and allocate institutional/rented accommodation as approved.
  • Assess institutional/rented accommodation and ensure proper handover/takeover is completed.
  • Ensure adequate stocking of canteen provisions.

  • Consolidate canteen registers.
  • Compile staff uniforms and protective clothing requirements for the airport.
  • Raise fuel requisitions for the staff bus and pool vehicle.
  • Support the Human Resources Officer with transport-related duties and logistics.
  • Initiate annual and periodic medical examinations for bus drivers, canteen staff, etc.

  • Check the completeness and accuracy of all submitted HR forms and timesheets.
  • Maintain a leave database.
  • Address salary queries.
  • File staff records in individual personal files.
  • Assist in the compilation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc reports.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Social Science.
  • Diploma in Personnel Management (IPMZ).
  • A minimum of 1 year of working experience in Human Resources Management.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • High level of trustworthiness.

Skills and Competences

  • Knowledge of labor laws.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
