The Zimbabwe Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (ZimParks) is a governmental organization responsible for the management of national parks, wildlife, and protected areas in Zimbabwe.

ZimParks plays a crucial role in the conservation of Zimbabwe’s rich biodiversity and natural heritage, contributing significantly to tourism and ecological sustainability.

The organization is committed to developing future conservationists and professionals by offering various opportunities for practical experience and entry-level employment.

ZimParks is seeking applications from suitably qualified individuals to fill several internship and entry-level positions across various locations in Zimbabwe.

These opportunities provide valuable hands-on experience and exposure to the operations of a leading conservation authority.

STUDENT ATTACHEES

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Student Attachee, based at the Zimbabwe Institute of Wildlife Conservation. The successful candidate will support the Vice Principal and contribute to the Institute’s educational and research activities.

Duties and Responsibilities: The role involves assisting with lectures, tutorials, and practicals, participating in data collection and analysis, supporting wildlife monitoring, aiding in interpretation services, assisting with project management, helping with the SMART system, and contributing to GIS mapping.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Candidates should be studying towards a Degree in Wildlife Conservation, GIS, or Freshwater and Fishery Science, possess 5 Ordinary level passes including English Language and Mathematics, and demonstrate excellent communication and strong analytical skills.

FISHERIES INTERN (B1)

Applications are invited for a Fisheries Intern position at the Zimbabwe Institute of Wildlife Conservation. The intern will report to the Vice Principal and assist with various aspects of the college’s fisheries program.

Duties and Responsibilities: Responsibilities include assisting with the college fisheries project, supporting students with practicals, participating in data collection and research, conducting predator control, feeding and cleaning fish ponds, requesting resources, maintaining records, and assisting with tutorials for National Certificate students.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Applicants should hold a BSc Honours Degree in Protected Area Management, Fisheries, or equivalent, have 5 O levels passes including English, Maths, and Science, and possess good communication skills.
