Who Can Apply?
Australia Awards Scholarships welcome applications from citizens of eligible African countries, specifically targeting those seeking postgraduate qualifications in Australia. The program is particularly encouraging for women, people with disabilities, and marginalised groups.

Priority Fields of Study

Scholarships are available in the following key areas:

  • Agriculture and food security
  • Climate change
  • Foreign policy and international security
  • Gender, disability, and social inclusion
  • Mining and energy

Eligible Countries

Applicants from the following countries may apply:
Algeria, Angola, Benin, Botswana, Côte d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must meet the following conditions:

  • Be at least 25 years old by 1 February 2026.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of post-graduate work experience in a relevant field.
  • Be employed at the time of application.
  • Hold an appropriate undergraduate degree.
  • Not currently hold or be pursuing a Master’s degree.
  • Not have previously received a long-term Australia Award.
  • Meet English language proficiency requirements (IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE).

  • Applications for study commencing in 2026 should be submitted online via OASIS.
  • Ensure all essential supporting documents are uploaded.
