About the Area Manager Position
We are excited to announce an opening for a qualified Area Manager in the Zambezi Valley, renowned for its stunning landscapes and diverse wildlife. This role is vital for overseeing our conservation efforts and ensuring effective community engagement.
Job Purpose
The Area Manager will manage daily operations, foster relationships with community stakeholders, ensure habitat protection and security, and oversee ecological monitoring and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily Operations Management:
- Establish and maintain relationships with nearby conservation areas and stakeholders.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization in all camps.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with HR for personnel management and performance assessments.
- Implement incident response and emergency procedures.
- Monitor adherence to standard operating procedures and ethical guidelines.
- Oversee financial management, including budget tracking and reporting.
- Supervision of Onsite Departments:
- Community: Enhance community engagement and conservation results.
- Operations: Secure and manage anti-poaching initiatives.
- Habitat: Develop and execute habitat management plans, and maintain ecological records.
- Kitchen: Manage the kitchen operations, providing nutritious meals for staff.
Requirements
- Recognized qualifications in Ecological, Environmental, or Wildlife Management.
- MBA or relevant Master’s degree.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
- Clean driver’s license is essential.
