Job Description
Key Focus and Role Description
As an Assistant Financial Accountant, you will play a crucial role in producing accurate monthly statements for both statutory and management purposes. This specialized accounting position requires accountability for achieving results through your independent efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compile and populate records to Trial Balance level.
- Review control accounts and perform reconciliations.
- Prepare draft income statements and balance sheets.
- Create draft reports.
- Conduct financial management and control within established systems.
- Collect and analyze data using preset tools and methods.
- Manage basic aspects of data management systems, ensuring compliance with policies and protocols.
- Organize and prepare complex documents using various office applications.
- Provide information and resolve queries related to complex processes for internal and external stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of financial policies and guidelines.
- Identify and report noncompliance instances within the team.
- Participate in personal capability building through ongoing education and professional development.
Qualification Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- Between 1 and 3 years of relevant experience.
- CIMA/ACCA/CTA qualifications are an added advantage.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong accounting knowledge and technical skills.
- Effective communication and oral communication skills.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in computer literacy and database reporting.
- Strong financial acumen and numerical aptitude.
- Ability to manage complexity and plan effectively.
- A proactive approach to personal initiative and accountability.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
