Position: Assistant Registrar/Senior Assistant Registrar – Records Management; Archiving Unit (1 Post)

Qualifications and Experience
- Degree Requirements:
- BSc (Hon) degree in Records and Archives Management or
- BSc in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies, or
- BSc in Library and Information Science or
- Bachelor of Arts (Hon) in History from a recognized institution.
- Master’s Degree Requirements:
- Master’s Degree in Records and Archives Management or
- Master of Science Degree in Library and Information Science or
- Master of Arts in Archaeology, Cultural Heritage and Museum Studies.
- Experience:
- Minimum of four (4) years of post-qualification experience related to Records Management.
- Experience in a University or similar institution.
- Skills:
- Computer literacy is essential.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage University information in alignment with the Records and Information Management Policy and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Monitor the creation, use, maintenance, and archiving of University records.
- Manage records retention and disposal processes in consultation with the National Archives of Zimbabwe.
- Recruit, induct, and train Records Management staff.
- Compile Unit reports and budget requirements.
- Maintain a safe working environment.
- Supervise operations in the Records Unit.
- Maintain an up-to-date records inventory for the section.
- Liaise with external service providers.
- Ensure the safe keeping of all University records.
- Execute any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
