We are currently seeking a self-driven and detail-oriented Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Compliance professional to enhance our compliance team.

Position Overview:
As a Compliance Officer (AML), you will play a crucial role in the development and implementation of the Bank’s AML compliance program, ensuring adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.

You will report directly to the Bank Compliance Manager and contribute to the ZB Financial Holdings compliance monitoring framework, promoting a culture of compliance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and implementation of compliance programs, policies, and procedures.
• Monitor and assess the effectiveness of compliance controls across various business units.
• Conduct regular AML compliance audits to identify potential weaknesses in the program.

• Investigate potential suspicious activities and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) with regulatory bodies when necessary.
• Document the rationale behind SAR filings and/or decisions against escalation.
• Collaborate with different departments to foster a culture of compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

• Support the development and maintenance of AML policies, procedures, and training programs in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Prepare comprehensive documentation and analytical reports for regulatory examinations and audits.
• Review and analyze internal processes to identify areas for improvement and recommend necessary changes.

• Assist the Compliance Manager with day-to-day compliance activities and respond to compliance inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standards impacting the Bank’s operations.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, Law, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in compliance, risk management, or a related field, preferably within a banking or financial services environment.
• A diploma in Banking from a recognized institution such as the Institute of Bankers in Zimbabwe is required.

• Professional qualification in AML-CFT-CPF (e.g., CAMS) is essential.
• Membership in a professional compliance body is advantageous.

Required Skills and Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of banking regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Proven ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong problem-solving mindset with the capacity to interpret complex data and identify trends or anomalies.
• High attention to detail and the ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially.
