- DEPOT ASSISTANT (14 Positions)
The Grain Marketing Board (GMB) is committed to enhancing food security and sustainability in our communities. We invite applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the position of Depot Assistant within our Operations Department.
Location: Candidates will be stationed at one of the following depots:
- Northern Region: Centenary, Chiaeshe, Guruve, Kadoma, Karoi, and Mvurwi
- Southern Region: Bulawayo, Gweru, Gokwe, Gwanda, Kwekwe, and Nembudziya
- Eastern Region: Chipinge and Marondera
Qualifications and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 O’ Levels including English Language and Mathematics/Principles of Accounts.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Agriculture, Agribusiness Management, Accounting, Marketing, Business Studies, or a related field.
- Knowledge of SAP is an added advantage.
- At least two (2) years of relevant experience in grain handling.

Summary of Duties:
- Participate in the planning of the depot’s annual grain handling.
- Account for grain stocks and agro-products at the depot daily.
- Manage the ordering of depot requirements as necessary.
- Monitor daily quality of stocks in accordance with set standards.
- Conduct inspections for infestations.
- Supervise the completion and submission of OPS 92 to the Quality Assurance Officer.
- Prepare monthly depot income and expenditure accounts as tasked by the Supply Chain Manager.
- Account for cash transactions, including petty cash, as delegated.
- Oversee the receipt and dispatch of grain deliveries and other agro-products.
- Ensure accuracy in all documentation related to sales and stock management.
- Conduct daily and weekly physical stock counts.
- Oversee the distribution of inputs to eligible farmers according to established standards.
- Verify the accuracy of gate books, Delivery Vouchers (DVs), Dispatch Tickets (DTs), stock sheets, and other documents.
- Complete timesheets and attendance registers diligently.
- Ensure compliance with the SHE Policy for employee safety and health.
- Foster positive public relations and exemplary customer service.
- Perform administrative duties adhering to standard operating procedures.
- Compile daily and weekly reports for the Supply Chain Manager.
- Undertake any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
