Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Site Manager, the Driver Mobiliser plays a critical role in generating demand for program services through effective community mobilization, while also providing safe and efficient transportation support. This position involves community engagement, data entry, and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the success of health initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and conduct community sensitization sessions to promote program services, targeting key populations.
- Assist in mobile outreach site setup and secure suitable locations for outreach activities.
- Conduct health discussions at program entry points and strengthen collaborations with government stakeholders.
- Engage community leadership to disseminate HIV/SRHR messages effectively.
- Distribute information, education, and communication (IEC) materials in key population hotspots.
- Collaborate with site teams to align program and demand generation activities.
- Participate in outreach planning, hotspot mapping, and community engagement during service distribution.
- Ensure timely transportation of outreach teams, adhering to safety regulations.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance and record travel and fuel consumption accurately.
- Complete basic safety checks on vehicles and routes prior to departure.
- Conduct data entry using standardized tools and assist with IPC data collection and condom distribution tracking.
- Represent CeSHHAR Zimbabwe professionally in dress and behavior.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Class 4 driver’s license and defensive driving certificate.
- Expert knowledge of Zimbabwe’s driving rules and regulations.
- Maturity and organizational skills with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Fluency in English and at least one indigenous language.
- Experience in community mobilization, especially with key populations in sexual and reproductive health contexts.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance is advantageous.
- Previous experience in NGOs or civil society organizations in HIV/AIDS programs preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
