Job Description
The successful candidates will be responsible for ensuring that the temple grounds reflect the beauty, cleanliness, and sacred nature of the temple experience. You will work in accordance with the standards established by the First Presidency and perform a variety of gardening and groundskeeping tasks, while caring for landscaped areas, sidewalks, driveways, building entrances, and other designated zones.

Key Responsibilities

• Mow lawns using both hand and power mowers.
• Adhere to the original landscape plan by planting perennials, shrubs, and trees.
• Trim and edge around walls, flower beds, and walking paths using hand clippers and power edging tools.
• Operate heavy tractors and other large power equipment for landscape maintenance as needed.

• Prune and shape shrubs and trees to promote optimum growth and enhance the beauty of the grounds.
• Implement spraying for disease, weed, and insect control, as well as perform regular fertilization in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
• Ensure all power equipment and machinery are maintained properly.

• Provide guidance to volunteers in the maintenance of grounds.
• Water lawn and garden areas as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Must possess a current Temple Recommend and be worthy to hold it.
• Must be an endowed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
• High school qualification / Matric or equivalent is required.

• One to two years of experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture, gardening, agriculture, landscape design, or a related field.
• Knowledge of various plants and fertilizers is necessary.
• Ability to follow directions, work both independently and as part of a team.
• Capable of lifting up to 25 kg.
