Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals to fill the following vacancies that have arisen within the University’s Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Internal Audit Section:
Position: Graduate Trainee – Information Systems Auditor (2 Posts)
Overview:
The successful candidates will participate in an intensive eighteen (18) month in-house training program, assisting in the execution of Internal Audit assignments for the University under the direct supervision of the Internal Auditor – Information Systems.
Qualifications, Experience, and Attributes:
- A Bachelor’s degree in one of the following fields:
Computer Science / Information Systems / Business with Computing Science / Business Management System Design and Applications / Cyber Security and Auditing / Data Analytics or an equivalent qualification. - A qualification or enrollment in Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or a similar certification will be considered an added advantage.
The ideal candidates must be able to:
- Utilize audit software to develop scripts or supplementary programs necessary for performing specialized audit functions.
- Conduct audits of high-risk transactions, including supplier payments and payroll transactions, using audit software.
- Identify and evaluate risks associated with the University’s ICT systems.
- Examine and evaluate general controls within all University ICT systems.
- Assess the capability of ICT Systems to meet operational requirements and recommend essential improvements.
- Use audit software to verify the integrity of data held across various applications.
- Evaluate the robustness of the University’s computer systems against cyber threats and generate reports on the outcomes of ICT audits for the Chief Internal Auditor.
