Position: Internal Auditor – Information Systems (1 Post)

Job Description
Under minimal supervision, the Internal Auditor – Information Systems will perform detailed evaluation and internal control and audit reviews of computer information systems. The role entails developing and maintaining audit software, and consulting with administrators, faculty, and staff on operational issues regarding computer and web or cloud-based information systems.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field in Information Technology.
- Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant post-qualification experience.
- Certifications: Certification as an Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CIA, CRM, or similar is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
- Proficiency in current technological developments and trends in information systems.
- Understanding of auditing concepts and principles.
- Competence in data gathering, compiling information, and report preparation.
- Ability to conduct control reviews for systems development, operation, programming, control processes, and security standards.
- Skills in reviewing system backup, disaster recovery, and maintenance procedures.
- Strong communication skills to interact with professional staff in the area of specialty.
- Knowledge of software requirements for auditing computing systems and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct general and application control reviews for various computer information systems.
- Perform information control reviews, including systems development standards, operational procedures, systems security, backup protocols, disaster recovery, and system maintenance.
- Supervise or conduct reviews of internal control procedures and security for developing systems and enhancements.
- Maintain and enhance computerized audit software.
- Prepare audit finding memoranda and working papers to support audit conclusions.
- Present written and oral reports concisely and accurately to management.
- Consult with and advise staff on operational issues pertaining to computerized information systems.
- Follow up on audit findings to ensure corrective actions are taken by management.
- Coordinate with external auditors, administrators, staff, and law enforcement as required.
- Assist and train audit staff in using computerized audit techniques and developing review methods.
- Stay updated with state-of-the-art technology, equipment, and systems.
- Conduct operational, compliance, financial, and investigative audits, along with any other duties as assigned.
