Job Description

Great Zimbabwe University, an equal opportunity employer, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for a teaching position in the Munhumutapa School of Commerce. We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to join our team as a lecturer in Banking and Finance.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality instruction in Banking and Finance courses, both in-person and online.
• Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate students’ dissertation writing.
• Teach at least four of the following modules:
  • Corporate Finance
  • Research Methods in Economics and Finance
  • Risk Management
  • Financial Markets and Institutions
  • Financial Regulations
  • Fundamentals of Actuarial Models
  • Simulation and Financial Modelling
  • Stochastic Processes in Finance
  • Visual Programming Concepts
• Participate in curriculum development and departmental activities.
• Engage in research and scholarly activities in the field of Banking and Finance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Master’s degree in Banking and Finance, Finance, Financial Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant first degree with at least a 2.1 classification.
• Experience in supervising dissertation writing and teaching at the tertiary level.

• Ability to teach at least four specified modules effectively.
• A relevant Doctoral degree or progress towards one is preferred.
• Possession of a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher and Tertiary Education is an added advantage.
• Previous teaching experience at a university or tertiary institution is highly desirable.
