Midlands State University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following position:

Position: Producer/Presenter (News & Current Affairs)
Post Availability: 1

QUALIFICATIONS:

• An Honours Degree in Communication, Journalism, or Media Studies with at least a 2.1 classification.
• A minimum of one year of post-qualification working experience in a broadcasting environment.
• A Master’s Degree in Communication, Journalism, or Media Studies will be considered an asset.
• Prior experience at an institution of higher learning is advantageous.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing engaging content for the radio station. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Researching shows and bulletins through comprehensive information gathering.
• Booking guests and sources for on-air segments.
• Investigating and analyzing trending topics for discussion.

• Promoting events and facilitating outside broadcasts for the station.
• Writing scripts for news items, program advertisements, and promotional materials.
• Providing voice-overs for news, programs, advertisements, and promotions.

• Editing pre-recorded programs for broadcast.
• Generating revenue through innovative programming and advertising strategies.
• Performing any additional duties as assigned by the management.
