Organizational Overview
The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations has been operational in Zimbabwe since 1984. The office hosts both the FAO Country Office (FAOZW) and the Subregional Office for Southern Africa (SFS), focusing on implementing priority activities that align with the Government’s objectives and the Zimbabwe United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.
Reporting Structure
The Video Producer will report directly to the designated FAO contact (Project Coordinator) and the SFS CAPRM Technical Lead.
Key Responsibilities
The incumbent will collaborate with the Office of Communications (OCC) to fulfill the following tasks:
- Video Conceptualization and Planning:
- Collaborate with project teams to understand and creatively address objectives.
- Develop creative briefs and storyboards.
- Update project stakeholders on production progress.
- Professional Video Production:
- Conduct supplemental filming and ensure high-quality production standards.
- Integration of Existing Footage:
- Review and evaluate existing footage, integrating new materials into compelling narratives.
- Post-Production:
- Edit raw footage, adding graphics, animations, and audio enhancements.
- Customization for Various Formats:
- Create videos catering to diverse formats, such as documentaries and promotional materials.
- Creative Storytelling:
- Craft narratives that highlight project outcomes in line with communication strategies.
- Asset Management:
- Systematically organize and archive video assets for future use.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review and refine final deliverables to ensure they meet organizational standards.
- Training and Knowledge Sharing:
- Provide guidance on video management and conduct basic training for staff.
- Other Duties:
- Adapt deliverables based on feedback and ensure compliance with FAO guidelines and clearance processes.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: University degree in Communication, Multimedia Production, Film Studies, or related field.
- Experience: At least five years in video production and editing, with expertise in integrating existing footage.
- Language: Proficient in English (Level C).
- Eligibility: Must be a national of Zimbabwe or a resident with a valid work permit.
