We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team as a Social Work Intern.
Position Overview:
The Social Work Intern will play a vital role in providing social work services to Authority staff and their immediate family members. This internship position offers an excellent opportunity for those wishing to gain practical experience within a supportive and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver social work services to Authority staff and their families, enhancing their well-being.
- Act as a social work resource for staff, facilitating their personal and professional growth.
- Document and assess employees’ social work needs in accordance with relevant government legislation.
- Offer direct social work support to employees when needed.
- Attend and officiate at social services functions for staff.
- Provide literature and resources pertinent to social work for employees and their families.
- Conduct assessments with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate individual and family situations.
- Prepare and document assessments that comply with specified standards and timelines.
- Organize and manage support packages to facilitate fulfilling lives for staff and their families.
- Recommend appropriate courses of action for individual cases.
- Liaise and refer cases to external agencies as necessary.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings focused on areas such as Child Protection and Mental Health.
- Maintain accurate records of social work activities and interventions.
- Engage in training, supervision, and team meetings for continuous professional development.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Required:
- A Diploma in Social Work, Theology, or a related field is required. A degree is an added advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication and excellent writing skills.
- Good analytical skills for assessment and documentation purposes.
