Midlands State University invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Software Developer. This role is essential to our team, contributing to innovative solutions that enhance our software offerings.
Reporting To: Software Engineer
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a software developer.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, and implement new software programs to meet organizational needs.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code utilizing appropriate programming languages.
- Test and debug software to ensure functionality and resolve any errors or issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and QA testers, across various projects.
- Maintain and update existing software to enhance performance and integrate new features.
- Document code and processes for reference and maintenance purposes.
- Deploy software into production environments and monitor its performance.

- Stay abreast of new technologies, tools, and methodologies in software development.
- Optimize software for scalability and reliability.
- Implement security best practices to ensure the safety of software applications.
- Adhere to coding standards, design patterns, and industry best practices.
